Rakesh Tiwari, President of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's decision in the Union Budget to improve sports infrastructure in Bihar is a historic occasion for the state's athletic community.
On Tuesday, the Union Budget for 2024 was submitted to Parliament. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivered the first Union Budget of the Modi 3.0 government, as well as her eighth consecutive one, during Parliament's Monsoon Session. The BCA president, Rakesh Tiwari, extended emotional gratitude to the Finance Minister, saying it is an important step toward developing Bihar's great sporting talent.
"I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable Finance Minister for the significant investment announced in sports infrastructure in the Budget 2024." This is a significant time for our state's sports community," Rakesh Tiwari said in a BCA release.
"The building of new sporting facilities is not only a source of pride, but also a critical step toward cultivating Bihar's great talent. The modern infrastructure will offer our athletes with the resources they need to train, compete, and excel on a national and international level. "This initiative will undoubtedly foster a vibrant sports culture in our state," he said.
Budget 2024 highlighted numerous substantial projects for Bihar, with the goal of developing the state into a main driver of 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India). The Finance Minister revealed plans to build new airports, medical institutes, and sports facilities across the state.
The BCA president stressed the importance of these developments for Bihar cricket players, pointing out that the new facilities will provide better training grounds, modern amenities, and high-quality infrastructure.
"On behalf of the Bihar Cricket Association, I reiterate our commitment to supporting this initiative and working with the government to realize these plans," said Rakesh Tiwari, its president. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her colleagues for their dedicated work. The Prime Minister stated that the budget will empower all segments of society.
