SIF360 has consequently expanded its role beyond digital fund discovery through webinars, investor-awareness programmes, distributor training and industry engagement

India’s investment-management landscape is entering a new phase of sophistication. As investors look beyond conventional products for differentiated strategies and greater portfolio flexibility, Specialized Investment Funds (SIFs) are emerging as a distinct regulated category.
Introduced by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) through a regulatory framework issued in February 2025 and effective from April 1, 2025, SIFs were designed to bridge the portfolio-flexibility gap between mutual funds and Portfolio Management Services (PMS).
The framework prescribes an aggregate minimum investment threshold of INR 10 lakh at the PAN level across strategies offered by a SIF. It is within this evolving landscape that SIF360 is positioning itself as a dedicated intelligence, discovery and education platform for the category.
Launched in August 2025, the platform was built around a straightforward premise: as sophisticated investment strategies become more accessible, the infrastructure for understanding, comparing and tracking them must evolve at the same pace.
Addressing the Discovery and Knowledge Gap
The idea for SIF360 emerged from its founder Sandeep’s experience of more than two decades across wealth management and institutional investments.
During his career, including exposure to institutional investing and long-short strategies in the US and Canada, he observed a recurring gap - the availability of sophisticated products was growing, but the information architecture surrounding them remained fragmented.
SIFs presented an opportunity to address this problem at the inception of a new category. Rather than building another investment marketplace, SIF360 set out to create what the company describes as an ‘intelligence and discovery layer’ for the SIF ecosystem.
“The platform currently tracks more than 30 SIFs and brings together fund and AMC discovery, strategy classification, NAV and performance tracking, fund comparison and investor education. Its underlying philosophy is captured in three words: Discover, Understand and Compare”, says Sandeep Seth, Founder & CEO.
The timing is significant. According to the August 2026 edition of the ValueMetrics Mutual Fund & SIF Flow Meter, as reported by The Economic Times, industry SIF assets under management reached approximately INR 23,177 crore in July 2026, rising 30 percent month-on-month from INR 17,858 crore in June.
Such growth is creating a parallel need for independent information infrastructure that can help market participants navigate an expanding universe of strategies.

Making Sophisticated Strategies Easier to Evaluate
At the centre of SIF360’s proposition is an attempt to make complexity comparable. Sophisticated investment strategies can be difficult to evaluate when information is dispersed across scheme documents and presented in formats that require considerable financial knowledge.
“SIF360 seeks to translate this information into structured data points, enabling investors and advisors to examine funds across comparable parameters.
Alongside fund discovery and performance information, the platform is building educational resources around areas such as long-short strategies, portfolio construction and investment risk”, speaks Sandeep Seth.
Importantly, the platform does not position technology as a substitute for investment advice. Instead, its objective is to reduce information asymmetry and equip users with a stronger framework for asking relevant questions and evaluating investment options.
That approach becomes increasingly relevant as the SIF universe expands across equity, debt and hybrid strategies. Investors will require deeper analytics, while wealth advisors and distributors will need product intelligence that can support more informed client conversations. AMCs, meanwhile, will require credible channels for visibility, education and engagement.
Building an Ecosystem Beyond the Platform
For a new investment category, however, data alone cannot drive adoption. One of SIF360’s early learnings has been that education must precede scale.
Questions around how SIFs differ from mutual funds and PMS, who they are suitable for, and how strategies such as long-short investing work continue to shape investor conversations.
SIF360 has consequently expanded its role beyond digital fund discovery through webinars, investor-awareness programmes, distributor training and industry engagement.
“The company has also been engaging with mutual fund distributor associations and bringing fund managers and industry professionals into educational conversations.
Its recently concluded SIF360 Bharat Summit 2026 extended this approach by bringing together leaders from asset management, fund management, wealth management and distribution”, mentions Sandeep Seth.
This ecosystem orientation is central to SIF360’s positioning. Instead of addressing investors in isolation, the platform is attempting to connect AMCs, advisors, distributors and investors through a common information and education framework.
From Discovery Platform to SIF Intelligence Infrastructure
As the market matures, SIF360 expects the conversation to shift from product proliferation towards strategy quality, risk-adjusted performance, drawdowns, portfolio construction and long-term investor outcomes. Its roadmap is being shaped accordingly.
“The company plans to deepen its technology and data capabilities, develop more sophisticated portfolio-evaluation, strategy-comparison and risk-analytics tools, and strengthen institutional-quality research through initiatives such as the SIF Intelligence Report.
Expanding investor and distributor education and creating stronger engagement between AMCs and the wealth-management ecosystem will remain other strategic priorities”, highlights Sandeep Seth.
For SIF360, the long-term opportunity is therefore larger than fund discovery. By building alongside a category that is itself still taking shape, the company aims to become the research, intelligence and ecosystem infrastructure surrounding SIFs in India.
As the segment develops a longer performance history and attracts a broader base of sophisticated investors, SIF360’s ability to turn complexity into accessible intelligence could determine its relevance.
Its ambition is clear: to become the natural destination whenever investors and industry professionals seek to discover, understand, compare or engage with India’s SIF ecosystem.
