The House Fund and GSV Ventures led a $9.5 million seed funding round for edtech startup SiglQ.ai, which also included participation from Duolingo, General Catalyst India (Venture Highway), Peak XV Partners, Calibrate Ventures, and a group of angel investors that included Christian Storm, Trevor Darrell, Jitendra Malik, Srini Devadas, Sharad Malik, and Andy Konwinski, co-founder of Perplexity.
According to a news statement from SiglQ.ai, the money will be utilized to expand its platforms to school systems across the globe, improve its AI models, and hire top personnel more quickly.
Karttikeya Mangalam and Kurt Keutzer founded SiglQ.ai in 2023 to create AI-powered learning solutions that provide individualized instruction at scale. With the goal of revolutionizing education, its major products, PadhAI and EverTutor.ai, presently assist hundreds of thousands of students worldwide.
The startup has launched two live products, PadhAI and EverTutor.ai, aimed at the higher education markets in the United States and India, following 18 months of being in stealth mode. Notably, the business asserts that PadhAI Tutor outperformed over 1.3 million human candidates and defeated ChatGPT and Claude, two AI systems, to rank #1 nationally in the live UPSC 2024 Civil Service Exam.
Additionally, according to SiglQ.ai, PadhAI has quickly gained traction and drawn over 200,000 UPSC candidates in India. In the meantime, within three months of its inception, EverTutor.ai, a website designed just for GRE preparation, has attracted over 10,000 users.
With an eye toward the future, SiglQ.ai intends to broaden EverTutor's clientele and assist GRE candidates during the forthcoming spring and fall exam cycles.
