Bajaj Auto Q1 Profit Jumps 46% as Revenue Surges 65%

Finance Outlook India Team | Tuesday, 21 July 2026

Bajaj Auto reported a strong start to FY27, with its consolidated net profit rising 46% year-on-year to Rs 3,225.63 crore. Revenue also jumped 65%, supported by business growth and the consolidation of KTM-linked entities into its financial statements.

    Highlights:

    • Bajaj Auto's Q1 net profit rose 46% to Rs 3,225.63 crore, while revenue increased 65% year-on-year.
    • The company said the latest quarterly numbers are not directly comparable because of changes in its consolidation structure.

The company reported consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 21,688.83 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with Rs 13,133.35 crore a year earlier.

However, Bajaj Auto clarified that the June-quarter figures should not be compared directly with previous periods because of a significant change in the scope of consolidation.

Why Are the Numbers Not Directly Comparable?

In November 2025, Bajaj Auto's wholly owned subsidiary, Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV, acquired control of Bajaj Auto International Holdings AG (BAIHAG). BAIHAG owns around 74.9% of Bajaj Mobility AG and KTM AG.

From the latest quarter, Bajaj Auto began consolidating BAIHAG's financial results with a one-quarter reporting lag. As a result, the company said the latest earnings are not directly comparable with the same quarter last year or the previous quarter.

Revenue & Profit Continue to Grow

Despite higher operating costs, the company delivered healthy earnings growth during the quarter.

Total income stood at Rs 22,376.69 crore, including Rs 687.86 crore in other income.

Profit before tax increased 49.4% to Rs 4,423.41 crore, while basic earnings per share (EPS) rose to Rs 115.5, compared with Rs 79.2 in the year-ago period.

At the same time, total expenses increased 68% to Rs 17,949.85 crore, mainly because of higher raw material costs and employee expenses following the expanded consolidation.

Automotive Business Remains the Key Growth Driver

The automotive investments continued to contribute the largest share of Bajaj Auto's revenue.

Revenue from the automotive segment increased 64.7% to Rs 20,799.55 crore, while segment profit rose 51.5% to Rs 3,735.84 crore.

The financing business also reported strong growth. Revenue increased 84.6% to Rs 1,111.95 crore, while segment profit more than doubled to Rs 303.35 crore.

Meanwhile, the investment segment delivered revenue of Rs 465.19 crore, with profit rising to Rs 463.59 crore.

The latest results highlight Bajaj Auto's strong operating performance, although investors are likely to focus on future quarters when the impact of the new consolidation structure becomes easier to compare.
