TAccording to a PTI report, a forum of ten central trade unions is leading the nationwide general strike and has called for it to be a "grand success."
Amarjeet Kaur of the All India Trade Union Congress told PTI that more than 25 crore workers are expected to participate in the strike. Farmers and rural workers will join the protests across the country.

According to Harbhajan Singh Sidhu of the Hind Mazdoor Sabha, the strike will affect public services such as banking, postal, coal mining, factories, and state transportation.
Notably, while workers from the participating unions will go on strike, the banks have not declared or announced an official holiday. Banks are likely to remain open with fewer or fewer employees, which may cause delays and disrupt services, but they may not be closed.
