In a pre-seed fundraising round headed by Sauce VC, EDT, a consumer appliance startup created by Naiyya Saggi and Vyasateja Rao, has raised $1.4 million. Consumer Collective, Peak XV's Spark Grant, and a number of entrepreneurs, operators, and family offices also participated in the round.

Founders and senior executives from businesses like Caratlane, Noise, Urban Company, Mokobara, Ultrahuman, Servify, Vahdam, Dixon Technologies, Cyient, Reckitt, and others are among the angel investors in the round. Additionally, the company has hired consultants with experience in retail, hardware, and international consumer brands.
The money raised will be utilized to develop its product pipeline, establish R&D and design procedures, and recruit personnel in the fields of engineering, design, and production. Additionally, EDT will collaborate with manufacturing partners abroad and in India.
EDT was established in 2025 and is developing a line of consumer appliances in the kitchen, home, and personal care sectors. The firm intends to concentrate on technology, materials, and product design appropriate for contemporary homes. Preorders and waitlists for its first products are anticipated to open in January and February 2026.

Last year, Saggi, a former member of the Good Glamm Group and founder of BabyChakra, left her operational position. Before founding EDT, Rao, an industrial designer, operated the design firm Analogy.
The business intends to begin operations in India and then spread to the US and the Gulf Cooperation Council. With an emphasis on everyday use cases, EDT is presenting itself as a global consumer appliance brand based in India.
