In its most recent investment round, TIEA Connectors, a Bengaluru-based business that specializes in the design, development, and production of bespoke industrial electronic and electrical interconnect solutions, raised Rs 22 crore ($2.57 million). 8X Ventures and IvyCap participated in the round, which was led by Jamwant Ventures and Valour Capital.

Plantain Tree Ventures had previously contributed $1.43 million to the Dharwad-based business.

According to a press statement from TIEA Connectors, the money raised will be utilized to expand business operations, spur innovation, and keep providing solutions to clients.

TIEA Connectors, which was co-founded in 2019 by Ajith Sasidharan and Punit Shridhar Joshi, is housed at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and continues to work with IISc on innovative projects. It is still dedicated to promoting technological innovation and developing India's own ESDM capabilities, as seen by the numerous patents it has been given.

TIEA Connectors claims that their products are vital parts of a variety of industries, including as consumer electronics, defense, aerospace, and electric vehicles (EV). The company, which specializes in the design, development, and production of different kinds of interconnect solutions, says it has worked with prominent figures in the defense, aerospace, and electric vehicle industries.

TIEA is currently running at 90 percent manufacturing capacity and claims to have expanded four times in FY25.

With an emphasis on performance, cost effectiveness, and research and development—particularly in wireless power transmission and fire-retardant connectors—TIEA plays a vital role in manufacturing high-quality components that have historically been imported.
