    Equity MF Inflows Fell 10% to Rs 34,419 Crore in September

    Equity mutual fund (MF) inflows fell by 10% to Rs 34,419 crore in September, from Rs 38,239 crore in August.

    Debt mutual funds experienced withdrawals of Rs 1.13 lakh crore in September, compared to an inflow of Rs 45,169 crore in August. As a result, mutual funds saw a net outflow of Rs 71,027 crore in September.

    Equity mutual fund inflows fell 10% month on month (MoM) to Rs 34,419 crore in September. All equities categories except ELSS and targeted funds saw inflows in September.

    Sectoral/thematic funds saw the largest inflow of Rs 13,254 crore, a 27% decrease from an inflow of Rs 18,117 crore in August.

    Inflows into mid-cap funds climbed marginally by 2% to Rs 3,130 crore in September, up from Rs 3,054 crore in August. However, small-cap fund inflows fell 4% to Rs 3,070 crore, from Rs 3,209 crore the previous year.

    Focused funds and ELSS funds have continued to face inflows for the sixth consecutive month, with outflows of Rs 272 crore and Rs 348 crore, respectively.

    Debt mutual funds had an outflow of Rs 1.13 lakh crore in September, compared to an inflow of Rs 45,169 crore in August. The majority of debt mutual funds saw withdrawals. Liquid funds had the largest outflow of Rs 72,665 crore, followed by money market funds with an outflow of Rs 23,420 crore.

    Corporate bond funds saw the largest inflow of Rs 5,039 crore in September, while gilt funds received Rs 2,317 crore. Gilt funds with a 10-year constant duration saw the lowest inflow of Rs 31.09 crore in September.

    Total inflows into hybrid fund categories fell 51% to Rs 4,901 crore, compared to an inflow of Rs 10,005 crore in August. In September, all hybrid categories saw inflows with the exception of conservative hybrid funds and arbitrage funds, with multi-asset allocation receiving the most at Rs 4,070 crore.

    Equity savings funds and dynamic asset allocation/balanced advantage funds each attracted inflows of Rs2,269 crore and Rs1,703 crore, respectively. Arbitrage funds and conservative hybrid funds both had outflows of Rs 3,531 crore and Rs 126 crore in September.
