AI research startup Gibran has raised $2.6 million in seed funding from Together Fund, co-founded by Girish Mathrubootham (Freshworks) and Manav Garg (Eka Software).
The proceeds will be used to develop foundational AI models trained on small datasets, with an initial focus on the drug discovery field where large datasets are often unavailable due to limited patient populations.
Founded by Govind Balakrishnan and Srikant Chakravarti, Gibran is developing models that merge large language models (LLMs) with nature-inspired systems, aiming to create AI that can recombine known patterns into novel ideas.
Key Highlights
- AI research startup Gibran secures $2.6 M seed funding led by Together Fund to bolster adaptive AI.
- Funding will develop nature-inspired, scale-free AI systems for drug discovery, creative agents, and human collaboration
The technique shows potential in a variety of areas, including scientific research and medical development, as well as creative fields such as filmmaking and design. The technique combines large language models (LLMs) with nature-inspired systems, resulting in AI agents capable of creating innovative insights in medication development, scientific hypothesis formulation, and creative sectors.
