Under the direction of Prajay Advisors, the family business of Unichem Labs founders Prakash Mody and Jayendra Shah, Lifechart, a health-tech startup specializing in gut wellness, has received $360,000 in an extended seed funding round for its gut health brand Guttify.
With this $360K round, Lifechart has raised over $1 million since its $500K seed round in October 2024, which was supported by Expert Dojo, Agility Ventures, Sunn91 Ventures, government seed schemes, and angel investors including Nitish Mittersain and Ahana Gautam.
Guttify, a gut health brand created for India's urban population (tier I and III cities) and utilizing a diagnosis-first methodology, was co-founded in 2022 by Mukul Shah and Mansi Sharma. It provides clinically verified solutions and do-it-yourself at-home gut testing kits that blend contemporary science and herbal remedies. Its first product, a saliva pH testing kit for acidity, is now available, and in the upcoming months, more kits with prices as low as Rs. 99 will be released.
The mission of Guttify is to provide every Indian with easily accessible, precise, and customized gut health solutions that are based on science, made possible by technology, and motivated by Ayurveda. In order to solve the pressing and pervasive gut health epidemic in India, Lifechart and Guttify want to create a comprehensive ecosystem for gut wellness that is supported by full-stack science.
According to market data, more than 60 percent of Indians have digestive problems, and the country's gut health market is expected to be worth $18 billion.
