Social platform Misfits for offline hobby groups has successfully received seed funding of Rs. 5 crore from Info Edge Ventures and Better Capital.
The extra capital will be used to improve the mobile version of the platform, allowing more users to start and grow local groups across urban India.
Back in 2022, Shashwat Narhatiyar, Chaitanya Dhawan, Saurabh Sharma and Shaswat Kar came together to create Misfits, a offline community platform connecting club members, club leaders and venues to build healthy communities. The goal of the platform is to help hobby enthusiasts start and guide their own communities. Using the app, you can safely join, set up, support and strengthen clubs in your community, encouraging real-life connections in a digital age.
The company based in Gurugram enables individuals to find those who have similar hobbies and meet them in person. No matter if you love sports, quizzes, making art, writing or singing, there’s always a club for you.

Individual club leaders lead their groups and as a result, weekly meetups at local spots bring people together to enjoy the finest events. Those who manage the clubs help put together the events, while venues get a surge in attendance and see their profits increase, all to everyone’s benefit.
Misfits says it has seen over 25,000 organic app downloads and organized more than 3,000 social gatherings since the service started.
