IAS income 2024: The Indian Administrative Service, or IAS, is a highly esteemed profession in India that provides a respectable income along with several advantages and privileges, in addition to the chance to serve the country. The Union Public Service Commission, or UPSC, uses the seventh pay commission to determine an IAS's compensation. The pay scales and post level are factors that determine an IAS officer's income. An IAS officer's starting salary ranges from 56,000 per month at pay level 10 to 2,50,000 per month at pay level 18, where a cabinet secretary is paid. The Union Government of India's Ministry of Personnel sets the pay for IAS officers. One of the effects of the IAS being the highest-paying job in the country is the increased number of applicants for the IAS test.

The pay scale for IAS officials is determined by their grades. The IAS officials receive these grades according to how long they have been in the service. IAS officials are promoted and upgraded according to their performance and years of experience.
