In an innovative move to empower all Indians, particularly the elderly and those with disabilities, by making banking more safe, accessible, and convenient, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has announced the nationwide rollout of Aadhaar-based Face Authentication for customer transactions.
Key Highlights
- IPPB’s Aadhaar‑based face authentication offers contactless authentication nationwide, enabling secure, fingerprint‑free banking for elderly customers.
- Aadhaar‑face authentication supports differently‑abled and elderly users excluded due to fingerprint failures or mobile OTP constraints.
Customers can now conduct banking transactions using facial recognition technology, which was created under the auspices of UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India). This feature does away with the need for physical biometric inputs like fingerprints or one-time passwords. With this, IPPB furthers its goal of "Aapka Bank, Aapke Dwaar" by enhancing banking's customer-centricity, accessibility, and inclusivity.
