Indian Finance Updates: Latest Markets and Corporate News Today

Finance Outlook India Team | Thursday, 10 September 2026

Indian finance updates today is being dominated by a cautious market mood as Middle East tensions push Brent crude above $100 a barrel, while the rupee remains under pressure and investors await key US inflation data. The Nifty 50 and Sensex were largely flat in early trade after Wednesday’s sharp sell-off, when the Nifty fell 0.86% and the Sensex declined 1.08%. Among stocks in focus today are Wipro, Shakti Pumps, Hindustan Zinc, Dilip Buildcon and Enviro Infra Engineers, following fresh business developments and order wins. The broader market is also tracking ICICI Bank, Coal India, IRB Infrastructure and Sun Pharma, while the IPO market remains active.

    Wipro Launches Cybersecurity Command Centre

Wipro is in focus after launching a Chief Information Security Officer Command Center in partnership with Nasdaq-listed CrowdStrike. The facility is designed to help enterprises strengthen cybersecurity and respond to emerging risks associated with artificial intelligence. The offering combines Wipro’s cybersecurity capabilities with CrowdStrike’s security platform, with the aim of giving enterprises a more integrated view of security threats across devices, cloud infrastructure, identities and AI environments.

Amar Bysani, Global Practice Head, Cybersecurity and Risk Services, Wipro, said, “Cyber risk is intensifying pressure on boardroom decision-making. Threats that once remained dormant for months can now materialize within hours, driven by external triggers and AI-enabled exploitation. The Command Center will work with enterprises to turn security signals into business risk intelligence, enabling them to sense, prioritize, and respond at machine speed.”

Daniel Bernard, Chief Business Officer, CrowdStrike said, "AI is fundamentally changing both the threat landscape and how enterprises approach defence programs. He added that the collaboration will provide CISOs with AI-native security, intelligence and services to turn risk into action and make security a business advantage."

Shakti Pumps Wins Rs 235.92-crore Order

Shakti Pumps has received a Letter of Empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company for 10,000 off-grid solar photovoltaic water-pumping systems across Maharashtra. The order is valued at approximately Rs 235.92 crore, including GST, under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana. The pumps are expected to be executed within 60 days of individual work orders being issued.

Hindustan Zinc Signs Six-year Electric-truck Contract

Hindustan Zinc has signed a six-year transportation agreement with MFL India for deploying 30 electric trucks to transport zinc and lead concentrates. The vehicles will support transportation from the Rampura Agucha mine to smelting facilities in Rajasthan. The move forms part of the company’s efforts to electrify its mine-to-smelter logistics network and reduce the environmental impact of transportation.

Dilip Buildcon gets Rs 1,800-crore LPG pipeline LOI

Dilip Buildcon has emerged as the successful bidder for a Letter of Intent from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board for an LPG pipeline project connecting Paradip in Odisha with Raipur in Chhattisgarh. The proposed project is estimated at around Rs 1,800 crore. It involves a three-year construction period followed by 25 years of operation, with the company authorised to develop, finance and operate the pipeline and collect transportation tariffs.

Enviro Infra Receives Rs 224.19-crore Wind Project LoI

    Markets Remain Cautious

Indian equities opened largely flat on Thursday after Wednesday’s sharp decline. The Nifty 50 and Sensex were both down around 0.01% in early trade, reflecting investor caution as oil prices remain elevated and geopolitical risks continue. Investors are also awaiting US inflation data for clues about the Federal Reserve’s future policy direction.

    Crude Oil stays above $100

Brent crude remains above the $100-per-barrel mark as escalating tensions around the Middle East raise concerns over supply and shipping disruptions. The increase is particularly significant for India because higher crude prices can widen the import bill, increase inflationary pressures and weaken the rupee. Oil producers ONGC and Oil India benefited from the higher crude environment in early trade.

    Rupee Remains Under Pressure

The rupee is expected to remain vulnerable after weakening around 0.7% over the previous two sessions. According to reports, the currency could open around Rs 95.15–Rs 95.20 per US dollar, while RBI intervention is expected to provide only limited relief as oil prices and US Treasury yields remain elevated.

    RBI Manages Excess Liquidity

The Reserve Bank of India is reportedly using dollar-rupee sell-buy swaps to absorb excess rupee liquidity created by a surge in overseas deposits. Bankers and foreign-exchange brokers estimate the liquidity surplus at around Rs 14–15 lakh crore, with the RBI seeking to drain a substantial portion through swaps and other instruments.

    IPO Market Remains Active

India’s primary market continues to see strong activity. Four SME IPOs - Maharaja & Speedex India, Raksan Transformers, Panchatv Bharat and Om Galaxy - opened for subscription on Thursday. Maharaja & Speedex India was attracting the strongest grey-market interest, while Raksan Transformers also showed a positive premium.

The larger IPO pipeline is also gaining attention. NSE has revised its proposed IPO size, with reports indicating that the exchange could raise around Rs 23,500 crore through an offer for sale. The development brings the long-awaited NSE listing another step closer.

    Market Outlook

Indian stock market today are likely to remain volatile and stock-specific today, with crude oil above $100, Middle East developments, the rupee, RBI liquidity measures and US inflation data driving sentiment. On the corporate side, Wipro, Shakti Pumps, Hindustan Zinc, Dilip Buildcon and Enviro Infra Engineers remain key stocks to watch, while ICICI Bank, Coal India, IRB Infrastructure, Sun Pharma and ONGC are also attracting investor attention.

The strong IPO pipeline provides continued support for domestic capital-market activity, but elevated oil prices and geopolitical uncertainty remain significant risks for Indian equities. Foreign flows, domestic institutional buying and global bond yields will also be important in determining the market’s direction through Thursday’s session.
