Meesho Shares Gain as AI and Festive Demand Drive Orders
Meesho said artificial intelligence played a major role in helping shoppers discover products during the sale. AI-powered discovery accounted for 85% of orders on the first day, pointing to the growing role of personalized product recommendations in online shopping.
The company’s Meesho Mall segment also recorded strong growth. Orders increased more than 200% compared with the previous year, while the number of customers from Tier 3 and smaller markets buying Mall products tripled.
More than one in three shoppers purchased a Mall product for the first time across over 1,000 brands. Meesho added that more than eight in 10 first-time Mall buyers purchased beauty and personal care products. Health and wellness products and footwear followed.
Content commerce also contributed to the growth. Orders through this channel increased 3.7 times year over year, with 81% of creators coming from non-metro markets.
These trends suggest that festive shopping is expanding beyond clothing. Consumers are also buying products for grooming, home decoration, cleaning, hosting, and religious celebrations.
