MIC Electronics Limited, a leading provider of railway electronic systems and passenger information solutions, has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from Northern Railways for the execution of passenger information and telecom infrastructure works valued at ₹1.46 crore.
The project involves the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a comprehensive passenger information and backend telecom system designed to support real-time train and platform information across railway premises. The scope includes deployment of Passenger Information Systems (PIS) such as LED-based coach guidance display boards, train formation “at-a-glance” display boards, GPS-based platform clocks, and indoor display units, all conforming to RDSO specifications.
The order also covers the installation of centralised backend infrastructure, including RMS servers, Central Data Controllers (CDC), Platform Data Controllers (PDC), networking racks, structured cabling, and associated software and system integration to enable seamless data processing and information dissemination. Supporting infrastructure such as optical fibre cabling, CAT-6 data cabling, UPS systems with battery backup, power supply arrangements, earthing systems, conduit piping, trenching, and restoration works form part of the overall execution.

All supplies and works will be carried out in accordance with applicable RDSO standards and the Indian Railways General Conditions of Contract (IRGCC), April 2022, under the supervision of the Signal & Telecommunication Department of Northern Railways. The project will commence from the date of issue of the Letter of Acceptance and is scheduled for completion within a period of three months.
