RIL Bonus Record Date 2024: Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries' shares will be in focus today due to a bonus issue. Reliance Industries announced last month a 1:1 bonus issuance. RIL's bonus issuance ratio of 1:1 means that the business will issue one bonus share for every share held by qualified shareholders.
Reliance Industries has the highest market capitalization of any firm in the country. As on October 27, the firm had a market capitalization of Rs 19.97 lakh crore.
"...issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1 i.e. 1 new fully paid-up equity share of Rs 10 each for every 1 existing fully paid-up equity share of Rs 10 each, to the eligible equity shareholders of the company as on the record date," according to a filing from the first week of September.
RIL's Bonus Record Date
Later in October, Reliance Industries announced the bonus record date, which would be used to determine whether shareholders are eligible for the bonus issue. RIL shares will become ex-bonus today. Furthermore, today marks the record date for the extra issue.
"...the company has fixed Monday, October 28, 2024 as the Record Date for the purpose of determining the equity shareholders of the company eligible for bonus equity shares of the company," according to a company filing from October 16.
RIL's Bonus Share History
This is RIL's sixth bonus issue, and second in the previous ten years. According to the BSE website, Reliance Industries last issued bonus shares at a ratio of 1:1 in July 2017. Previously, in 2009, the corporation issued bonus shares to stockholders in the ratio of 1:1.
In July 2023, Reliance Industries demerged Jio Financial Services Limited and distributed one equity share of the demerged firm for every one equity share of Reliance Industries to qualifying stockholders.
