    Skill-training Platform Emversity nets $5 Million Pre-Series A Fund

Finance Outlook India Team | Wednesday, 23 April 2025

The parent company of the skill-training platform Emversity, Beyond Odds Technologies, has raised $5 million in its pre-Series A investment round, which is being headed by Lightspeed and Z47 and includes Alteria Capital and Innoven Capital.

Beyond Odds Technologies was founded in April 2024 by Vivek Sinha, the former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Unacademy, with an initial investment of $11 million. Lightspeed and Matrix Partners India lead the seed fundraising round.

Now has 36 campuses spread throughout 18 states. Building a competent grey-collar workforce in important industries like healthcare, travel, and hospitality is the platform's main goal. By the conclusion of the fiscal year, it intends to have grown to more than 75 campuses.

Students are prepared for careers as nurses, paramedics, lab technicians, caregivers, and other healthcare occupations under the Emversity School of Allied Health Sciences. Major hotel chains have joined with the recently established Emversity School of Hospitality to offer instruction in room operations, culinary techniques, and food and beverage service.

Higher education at Emversity incorporates instruction from the industry. Employer-sponsored stipends and industry-designed curricula are part of its concept to increase accessibility and job preparation.

In collaboration with higher education institutions, the firm offers honors and vocational degree possibilities through its two programs, SMART and EDGE. Training, internships, and job placements are all part of both curricula.

“Millions of roles in healthcare, hospitality and construction lie vacant, while one-third of graduates remain unemployed. Our employer-sponsored stipend model solves accessibility; industry co-designed curriculum ensure relevance; and our Centres of Excellence expand capacity", Sinha added.
