The Paytm FASTag Deadline Ends Today: Details

Finance Outlook India Team | Friday, 15 March 2024

The National Highways Authority of India, or NHAI, has suggested that Paytm FASTag customers acquire a new FASTag from a different bank by March 15, 2024, to guarantee seamless travel and avoid any trouble at toll plazas. This preventive action will assist you avoid penalties or dual fee charges while traveling on national highways.

Following the Reserve Bank of India's regulations on Paytm Payments Bank restrictions, Paytm FASTag customers will be unable to replenish or add to their balance after March 15, 2024. Nonetheless, they can use their current amount to make toll payments beyond the designated date.

Log into the FASTag Paytm site with your User ID or Wallet ID and password. Paytm customers are forced to terminate their existing FASTag. To begin, customers should open the Paytm app and browse to the Wallet area. Within the Wallet area, pick FASTag, then Manage FASTag, and finally Close FASTag. After completing this step, the FASTag security deposit, which is normally Rs 250, will be transferred to the regular wallet within 7-8 working days. This amount remains available for payment. Although extra funds cannot be added to the wallet, the current amount can be used to make payments until it hits zero. This assures that consumers will not lose money.

Additionally, service requests can be accessed. Customer contact information may be found on the official Paytm website or in the FASTag section of the app. Provide necessary information, such as your FASTag number, registered cellphone number, and any other facts they may want for verification.
Navigate to the Service Request area of the site. You may begin a closure request via the Paytm app's 24/7 assistance area by selecting the 'FASTag' category.

For deactivation requests, please state your wish to deactivate your FASTag. Follow the steps provided by the customer support person. They may demand more information or give advice during the operation.

Begin the process of creating a service request. Make a note of the complaint or reference number issued by customer service for future reference. If you do not get confirmation of deactivation within the specified timeframe, contact Paytm.

To close either the RFID Tag or the Wallet associated with your account, select "Closure Request" as the request type from the service request choices.

After you have closed your Paytm FASTag, you may apply for a new one, which is available by most banks. The new FASTag will be delivered to your location within seven working days. Furthermore, if you are on the go and are unable to register for FASTag online using your banking app, you can seek assistance from merchants who are typically positioned near toll plazas. They can issue you a FASTag and activate it promptly, allowing you to avoid incurring multiple costs.
