API-driven telephony infrastructure startup Vobiz.ai has secured $1 million in a seed funding round led by Piper Serica VC Fund. The company said the fresh capital will be utilised to enhance its engineering capabilities and strengthen go-to-market strategies.

Founded in 2025 by Suman Gandham and Vikash Srivastava, the Bengaluru-based startup is building a low-latency, secure voice infrastructure platform designed specifically for AI voice agents and applications. Its solution addresses the limitations of traditional telephony systems in the rapidly evolving conversational AI landscape.
Vobiz.ai offers features such as instant DID provisioning, low-latency SIP trunking, real-time streaming, noise cancellation, and compliance automation. These capabilities enable developers to seamlessly integrate voice AI into their applications. The platform also supports optimized call bridging for faster AI responses, real-time streaming for large language model integrations, and audio enhancement layers, along with compliance workflows aligned with Indian telecom regulations.

The startup aims to tackle key industry challenges, including high latency, limited programmability, inefficient call control, and fragmented developer experiences, by delivering an AI-native communication platform.
Looking ahead, Vobiz.ai plans to expand its DID inventory and carrier partnerships over the next 12 to 18 months. It also aims to enhance real-time streaming capabilities and introduce advanced observability features along with enterprise-grade compliance tools.
The company operates in a competitive landscape alongside players such as Exotel, Plivo, Twilio, Telnyx, and Ubona.
