Quick commerce platform Zepto has launched a new ‘Pay Later’ feature, marking its entry into the growing Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) space as it shifts focus from speed to smarter, user-centric shopping.

The newly launched feature allows customers to complete purchases instantly and pay later within a 15-day, interest-free cycle, making everyday grocery shopping more flexible and frictionless.
Designed primarily for high-frequency, low-value transactions, the service is embedded directly within the app, enabling a one-tap checkout without OTPs or third-party redirects.
Users can access instant credit of up to ₹10,000, enhancing purchasing convenience while encouraging repeat usage on the platform.
Announcing the rollout, co-founder Kaivalya Vohra said, “Meet Zepto Pay Later, a BNPL experience built completely inside the Zepto app. Shopping is now going to be smoother than ever.”
The move reflects a broader industry transition where quick commerce players are moving beyond the “10-minute delivery race” to focus on reducing shopping friction and improving user experience.

Alongside Pay Later, Zepto has also introduced:
- Real Lens: Real-time images of fresh produce from nearby stores
- Add After Checkout: Ability to add items to an existing order post-checkout

With rising competition from platforms like Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart, Zepto’s Pay Later feature positions it strongly in the convenience-led commerce ecosystem, where seamless checkout and flexible payments are becoming key differentiators..
