ZET Enters UPI Ecosystem After Securing NPCI Approval

Finance Outlook India Team | Thursday, 22 January 2026

ZET, India’s fastest-growing platform enabling access to affordable credit, today announced that it has received approval from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for its Third-Party Application Provider (TPAP) licence. The approval enables the launch of ZET UPI, allowing existing and new ZET Credit Card users to make seamless UPI payments using their RuPay credit cards.

ZET Credit Card users with an active ZET Plus subscription earn a flat 2% cashback on all ZET UPI transactions, in addition to a suite of enhanced rewards and benefits under the subscription.
Leveraging RuPay’s UPI-on-credit-card capability, ZET integrates UPI payments and credit card rewards with tools designed to support users in building their creditworthiness on a single platform.

The company is focused on expanding credit access for India’s nearly 400 million credit-invisible adults by helping them build a 750+ credit score through secured credit cards. Users also benefit from the everyday advantages of credit card usage.

With the addition of UPI, ZET extends its product suite to routine transactions, allowing users to build and maintain their creditworthiness more consistently through daily payments.

Speaking on the launch of ZET UPI, Yash Desai, Co-founder, ZET said, “UPI has become the default way Indians transact every day, and NPCI has played a central role in making the experience reliable and accessible. Our focus is to meet users where they already are and help them build healthy credit habits without changing how they pay. ZET UPI is designed to fit naturally into daily life while supporting a disciplined and transparent credit journey.”

ZET’s UPI ecosystem is powered by Juspay’s technology stack and enabled through a partnership with RBL Bank.

The company’s user base continues to scale rapidly, with monthly growth doubling at a consistent pace. The launch of ZET UPI further strengthens the platform’s value proposition for both existing and new users, offering a compelling reason to adopt the ZET Credit Card and begin their credit score-building journey through everyday payments. The flat 2% cashback on UPI transactions reinforces responsible usage with tangible rewards.

As digital payments continue to evolve, ZET is focused on building products that align everyday financial behaviour with long-term credit health. The company remains committed to developing solutions that make credit more intuitive, accessible, and responsibly integrated into everyday life for first-time and underserved users.
