Promethean Energy, a startup working on decarbonizing heating in industry, just closed a $2 million pre-Series A round led by Transition VC, supported by Sangam Venture, Sagana Capital and Fondation Botnar.
The money will help the company introduce new technologies, build AI-powered energy optimisation tools and extend its influence in India and Southeast Asia.
Mumbai’s brand manufactures large-scale heat pumps and recovery tools to help replace heating with fossil fuels. The products support thermal storage, smart system control and monitoring.
The firm gives options that respond to Indian industry and uses both CAPEX and ESCO models.

Systems from the company are employed by Hindustan Unilever, Godrej Industries and Raymond Textiles. Across chemicals, textiles, FMCG and steel, Altair has helped industries save over 100,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
It wants to clean up 1,000 factories over the next five years and is already planning international tests in Bangladesh, Indonesia and the Middle East.
