Bharat Ke Super Founders, India’s founder-first entrepreneurial television series streaming on Amazon MX Player, has facilitated a ₹5.5 crore equity funding commitment for Cosmoserve Space, a Hyderabad-based startup working on autonomous robotic spacecraft for space debris removal and in-orbit servicing.
The investment was secured as part of the show’s ongoing effort to back long-horizon, high-impact technologies that strengthen India’s strategic and scientific capabilities. Cosmoserve Space is developing Active Debris Removal and end-of-life satellite solutions aimed at addressing the growing global challenge of orbital congestion and space sustainability.
The deal comprised ₹5.5 crore in equity for a 2.44 percent stake, valuing Cosmoserve Space at ₹225 crore. Dr Velumani committed ₹5 crore for a 2.22 percent equity stake, subject to a larger follow-on raise of ₹45 crore. Additional participation came from Shivam M and Srini S, who invested ₹25 lakh each for 0.11 percent equity apiece. The structured investment reflects Bharat Ke Super Founders’ focus on aligning capital with deep technology readiness and long-term mission relevance.
Cosmoserve Space was founded by former ISRO scientist Chiranjeevi Phanindra, who brings a research-led approach to commercial space engineering. The company is building proprietary autonomous spacecraft systems, including the Reviver and Mothercraft duo, designed to identify, approach, capture, and safely de-orbit non-operational satellites and high-risk orbital debris.
Beyond debris removal, the startup is also developing robotic arms, optical navigation systems, and refuelling support devices to enable in-orbit servicing and satellite life-cycle management. These capabilities are increasingly critical as space traffic intensifies and nations look to safeguard orbital infrastructure.
The challenge Cosmoserve Space addresses is both global and strategic. With thousands of inactive satellites and debris fragments currently in orbit, space debris poses escalating risks to operational satellites, national security assets, and future space missions. Active Debris Removal is emerging as a foundational capability for responsible spacefaring nations.

Founder Chiranjeevi Phanindra’s journey reflects the ethos Bharat Ke Super Founders seeks to highlight. Born and raised in Chattaparru, a small village approximately 300 kilometres from Hyderabad, he pursued engineering education outside major metropolitan centres before completing his Masters at IIT Kanpur and a PhD at IIT Madras. After working with ISRO, he chose to build a mission-driven enterprise focused on strengthening India’s role in the global space ecosystem.
Cosmoserve Space currently operates with a 15-member team of engineers, designers, and scientists and is in the product development phase, with commercial deployment targeted for 2028.
With this investment, Bharat Ke Super Founders continues to position itself as a platform that goes beyond pitch-led entertainment, enabling founders working on complex, nationally relevant challenges to access serious capital. The Cosmoserve Space deal underlines the show’s emphasis on backing technologies that combine scientific depth, strategic relevance, and long-term impact.
