Juspay’s global expansion strategy and increased AI spending came at a cost in FY26. The payments technology firm reported a net loss of ₹90 crore, reversing its ₹62 crore profit in FY25.
The SoftBank-backed company’s revenue grew 30% year-over-year to ₹664 crore in FY26, up from ₹514 crore in the previous financial year. The company attributed the impact on its near-term financials to investments in international markets and artificial intelligence (AI).
Juspay is focusing on strengthening its global presence, developing new AI capabilities, and improving its core payment infrastructure. These investments aim to support the next phase of digital payments, including agentic commerce and AI-driven payment experiences.
Juspay’s Global Expansion Strategy Drives Investment in AI
Juspay continued to expand its international operations during FY26. The Bengaluru-based company strengthened its presence across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the United States, Latin America, and West Asia.
In these markets, the company works with banks and large enterprises to develop payment solutions. It also builds technology that supports real-time payment systems.
Alongside international expansion, Juspay is investing in AI platforms and capabilities. Its current initiatives include Xyne, Breeze Buddy, Breeze Universal, and Juspay Genius. The company is also strengthening its core technology and payment infrastructure to support emerging digital commerce needs.
Juspay said these investments affect its financial performance in the short term but are intended to create long-term value for enterprise customers.
“As we expand globally, we are also investing in AI as part of a broader strategy to build new solutions for enterprises. These investments have an impact on our near-term financials, but they are focused on building long-term capabilities and creating sustainable value for our customers,” said Sheetal Lalwani, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Juspay.

The company's strategy reflects its focus on building new solutions for businesses while expanding its international operations. However, its latest financial results show that higher investment spending coincided with a return to losses after its first profitable year in FY25.
Key developments in FY26 include:
- Revenue growth: Revenue increased 30% to ₹664 crore.
- Return to losses: The company reported a net loss of ₹90 crore after posting a ₹62 crore profit in FY25.
- AI investments: Juspay is developing capabilities across four platforms: Xyne, Breeze Buddy, Breeze Universal, and Juspay Genius.
- International expansion: The company strengthened its presence across multiple global regions.
Juspay Targets Enterprise Payments Across Global Markets
Founded in 2012 by Sheetal Lalwani and Vimal Kumar, Juspay has built a payment technology business serving enterprises worldwide.
The company claims to support digital payments for more than 500 enterprises globally. It also reports an annualized total payment volume (TPV) of more than $1 trillion.
Juspay says it processes more than 400 million transactions daily. Its operations span major business centers, including San Francisco, Dublin, Sao Paulo, Singapore, and Dubai.
The company’s global expansion strategy comes as businesses explore new ways to manage digital transactions and adopt AI-driven payment experiences. By investing in payment infrastructure and AI platforms, Juspay aims to address changing enterprise requirements across markets.
Its FY26 results highlight the balance between expansion spending and profitability. While revenue continued to rise, the company returned to losses as it invested in its international operations and technology portfolio. The next phase of its growth will depend on how these investments support its business and financial performance over time.
