Masters’ Union, one of India’s leading business and technology schools has launched an Rs 5 crore investment fund that will be managed directly by undergraduate finance students as part of their academic training; a first-of-its-kind experiential model designed to give learners early exposure to real capital, portfolio decisions and live market conditions. The fund serves as the experiential pillar of the Institute’s newly announced Undergraduate Programme in Finance & Economics, a four-year degree offering structured pathways for Chartered Accountancy (CA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) aspirants.
The programme, commencing August 2026, integrates academic coursework, certification-aligned learning pathways for CA/CFA and industry exposure into a single roadmap for Class XII graduates aiming for careers across audit, taxation, investment banking, wealth management, equity research, trading, financial analysis and corporate finance.
Over the past few years, Masters’ Union students have delivered strong finance outcomes, from uncovering multi-crore tax benefits during Big 4 internships to pitching live M&A strategies, analysing UHNI portfolios and participating in global investment mandates even before graduation. The industry experience played a central role in designing a curriculum built around early, supervised access to real mandates rather than theoretical knowledge.
Students will be able to deploy the fund across multiple asset classes including public markets, real estate, early-stage ventures, cryptocurrencies and commodities, giving them exposure to a broad spectrum of investment decisions. They will work on valuation, portfolio construction, risk management and performance reporting under supervision, allowing them to build authentic investment track records as part of their academic journey. In addition to the fund, students will have the opportunity to access CA-aligned articleships at Big 4’s and other top firms, internships across VC funds, wealth management firms, banks and fintechs; along with global financial immersions in Singapore, London, New York and Europe.

Swati Ganeti, Managing Director, Masters’ Union, said, “A large part of India’s finance talent pipeline still relies on students stitching together a B. Com, CA prep and internships on their own. It’s an incredibly inefficient system for something as technical as finance. With this programme, our aim is to replace that fragmentation with a coherent roadmap where students prepare for CA or CFA while working on live mandates and managing real capital from day one.”
The academic structure has been developed with inputs from senior finance professionals, fund managers, auditors and industry practitioners. Confirmed instructors include Sarthak Ahuja (Chartered Accountant & Investment Banker), Nilay Arun (Founder, Alaavo Ventures) and Rajat Kumar (Managing Partner, Nandan Capital), who will deliver deep instruction across audit, taxation, investments, valuation, financial modelling, risk analytics and market strategy.
