Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella: India's potential for $500 billion in AI GDP by 2025

In his keynote address in Mumbai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella highlighted artificial intelligence's (AI) potential to propel economic growth in India. He emphasized how well-known Indian brands, such as Microsoft's Copilot AI solution for businesses and consumers, are already benefiting from artificial intelligence.

"You can talk about tech as a real thing only if it will have a real impact on the overall growth of an economy. This market is undoubtedly having the fastest growth right now. Its buoyancy is apparent. The government, like all of you, has great expectations for what will occur by 2025 and how much of that growth artificial intelligence will contribute,” stated Nadela.

Connecting the dots with the Industrial Revolution, Nadella revealed an amazing fact. "The railway system in the United Kingdom was built with 10% of GDP at the height of the Industrial Revolution, and the rest is history. How heavily an economy invests in and uses new general-purpose technology across sectors will, in my opinion, affect that nation's prospects in the long run.

He talked about how excited he was to be early in this adoption cycle and scale it quickly. His remarks highlight how AI has the ability to completely change economies and how crucial it is to invest in this technology in order to fuel future prosperity.

It is projected that India's GDP would expand to $500 billion by 2025, and artificial intelligence will play a crucial part in this development. India is set to lead the world in AI-driven economic growth as more Indian firms use AI technology like Copilot.
