Global fintech platform Pine Labs has deepened its presence in the Philippines through a strategic collaboration with GCash for Business, the merchant services arm of the country’s leading digital wallet provider GCash.

The collaboration is aimed at enhancing merchant payment infrastructure across the Philippines, enabling businesses to offer installment payment plans, cashback rewards, loyalty programmes, and multiple payment options, including card and QR-based transactions.
The collaboration is expected to accelerate digital payment adoption among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing advanced point-of-sale (POS) solutions powered by Pine Labs’ fintech software stack.
GCash for Business already offers several merchant-focused solutions, including PocketPay, which transforms smartphones into POS devices, and SoundPay, which enables real-time payment alerts. It has also introduced hardware products such as SoundPay Plus and EasyPOS for businesses.
With Pine Labs’ integration, merchants across the GCash ecosystem will now be able to accept both card payments and QR-based transactions, significantly expanding payment flexibility and improving customer checkout experiences.
Pine Labs’ Growing Fintech Footprint
Founded in 1998, Pine Labs has evolved into one of Asia’s most prominent fintech infrastructure companies, offering merchant commerce, digital payments, issuing solutions, and embedded finance products across global markets.
The company currently operates in India, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, Australia, the United States, Africa, and the Philippines, serving banks, merchants, and financial institutions. Pine Labs already had an operational footprint in the Philippines through its local business partnerships and powers gift card programmes for SM Retail, one of the country’s largest retail groups.

Moreover, OpenAI recently strengthened its India expansion strategy by partnering with Pine Labs to integrate advanced AI capabilities into the fintech company’s digital payments infrastructure. The partnership is aimed at integrating OpenAI’s AI models into Pine Labs’ fintech ecosystem to strengthen merchant solutions, elevate customer interactions, and simplify digital transaction workflows.
