    Sept 2025 Bank Holidays: Branches to Remain Shut for Up to 15 Days

    According to the RBI bank holiday calendar, banks will close for up to 15 days in September across India. This does not, however, imply that all banks will be closed for 15 days, as bank holidays vary by region.

    There are several festive bank holidays in September, including Onam, Durga Puja, and others. Banks are closed on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays throughout India. Banks in India, including State Bank of India (SBI), ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank, will be closed on September bank holidays in their respective states.

    Here's the complete list of bank holidays in September 2025:

    September 3 (Wednesday): Banks in Ranchi will be closed for Karma Puja.

    September 4 (Thursday): Banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will be closed for First Onam.

    September 5 (Friday): Banks in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada will be closed on September 5 for Id-E-Milad/Milad-un-Nabi or Id-e Milad/Thiruvonam/Milad-i-Sherif.

    September 6 (Saturday): Banks in Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur, and Srinagar will be closed for Id-e-Milad (Milad-Un-Nabi)/Indrajatra.

    September 12 (Friday): Banks in Jammu and Srinagar will be closed on Friday following Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi.

    September 22 (Monday): Banks in Jaipur will be closed for Navratra Sthapna.

    September 23 ( uesday): Banks in Jammu and Srinagar will be closed to mark Maharaja Hari Singh Ji's birthday.

    September 29 (Monday): Banks in Agartala, Gangtok, and Kolkata will be closed for Maha Saptami/Durga Puja.

    September 30 (Tuesday): Banks in Agartala, Bubaneswar, Imphal, Jaipur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi will be closed for Maha Ashtami/Durga Puja.

    Will I be able to use online banking services on the bank holiday?

    During the August bank holidays, online banking services will be available throughout the country, allowing for convenient access to banking. Customers can use these services to conduct convenient financial transactions.
