    Tata Consumer Products Q2 Profit Flattens at INR 367.21 CRORE while Revenue Rises

    Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) on Friday reported a marginal increase in its consolidated net profit to INR 367.21 crore in the second quarter which ended in September 2024.

    Furthermore, according to a regulatory filing from TCPL, the company had also posted a consolidated net profit of INR 363.92 crore in the July-September quarter, the previous year. Also, its revenue from operations rose 12.87 percent to INR 4,214.45 crore during the quarter under review. It was at INR 3,733.78 crore in the year-ago period.

    Total expenses of the TCPL, earlier known as Tata Global Beverages Limited (TGBL), stood at INR 3,836.18 crore, which was up 15.61 percent in the September quarter. Moreover, TCPL's overall branded business was up 12.44 per cent to Rs 3,771.2 crore in the September quarter. If we look at the corresponding quarter, it was at Rs 3,353.81 crore in the last fiscal year.

    TCPL's branded businesses surround varied verticals including tea, coffee, water and other various value-added businesses. Additionally, its revenue from the branded business in India stood at Rs 2,655.19 crore, a 10.44 percent increase in the September quarter. Also to note, TCPL's international branded business stood at Rs 1,116 crore, witnessing an increase of 17.5 percent.

    While, on the other hand, its revenue from non-branded business stood at INR 462.28 crore, an increase of 19.05 percent during the quarter. This segment includes the company’s plantation and extraction business from tea and coffee. So to look at TCPL's total income, it increased to 17.57 percent to reach INR 4,260.42 crore in the September quarter, wherein, its shares on Friday settled at Rs 1,097.65 on Bombay Stock Exchange, up 0.66 percent from the previous close.
