Ankit Mehrotra and Sahil Jain, both Dineout alumni, founded The Medical Travel Company, which has raised $4.5 million in a seed round led by Nexus Venture Partners.

Through their athlete-led investment group 4CAST, international cricket players Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, and KL Rahul participated in the round as well, as did Kriscore Capital. Participating angel investors included Dr. Ritesh Malik, Abhishek Goyal, Manish Vij, Arjun Vaidya, 1947 Rise Fund, Peercheque, and Sriharsha Majety.
The money raised will be utilized to improve clinical collaborations, grow digital patient management, and scale operations in India and the UK. Over the next three to four years, it intends to spread to other areas, such as the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe.
The Medical Travel Company provides post-surgery insurance that is valid in the UK, clinical care in accredited hospitals, UK medical oversight, and end-to-end support that includes concierge, travel, and rehabilitation services.
