Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu has unveiled the company’s new Point-of-Sale (POS) devices, designed to enable businesses to accept in-person payments via debit and credit cards, UPI, and mobile wallets. Vembu further announced that Zoho’s homegrown instant messaging app, Arattai, will soon integrate with Zoho Pay, allowing for smoother payment operations within the messaging platform. This comes after Zoho became an RBI-authorised payment aggregator, expanding its suite of online and offline payment services for businesses across India.
Highlighting its commitment to real-world solutions, Zoho has partnered with NPCI’s NBBL to strengthen India’s payment infrastructure. The company’s messaging platform, Arattai, has seen an explosive 100x surge in traffic, with daily new sign-ups jumping from 3,000 to 3.5 lakh. Overall, the app has surpassed 7.5 million downloads across Google Play and Apple App Store.
