The runners-up secured $1.6 million (about ₹14.6 crore), while the losing semi-finalists were awarded $790,000 each. Teams reaching the Super 8 stage earned $380,000, and even sides eliminated in the group stage received $250,000, ensuring financial rewards across all participating teams.
Historic Win in Ahmedabad
India clinched the title with a commanding 96-run victory over New Zealand in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8, 2026. Batting first, India posted a massive 255/5, one of the highest totals ever in a T20 World Cup final, before bowling out New Zealand for 159.
Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was named Player of the Match for his exceptional spell of 4/15, while Sanju Samson earned the Player of the Tournament award for his consistent performances throughout the competition.
