Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s visit to India has placed renewed emphasis on strengthening bilateral trade and economic cooperation, with critical minerals and strategic supply chains emerging as key focus areas. During the visit, high-level discussions are being held at the India–Canada CEOs Forum, bringing together senior government officials, policymakers, and industry leaders from both countries.

    Key Highlights

    • Mark Carney’s India visit boosts strategic dialogue on critical minerals and bilateral trade expansion.
    • India–Canada CEOs Forum focuses on clean energy, supply chains, and long-term economic partnerships.

The talks aim to explore opportunities for collaboration in critical minerals, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and technology-driven sectors. With global supply chains facing increasing geopolitical uncertainties, both nations are keen to enhance cooperation in securing essential mineral resources used in electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and high-tech manufacturing.

Mark Carney’s engagement with Indian business leaders highlights Canada’s broader strategy to diversify trade partnerships and reduce reliance on traditional markets. India, on the other hand, sees Canada as a vital partner in building resilient supply chains, boosting investments, and expanding bilateral trade volumes.
